A Solo Show in Seminole, Florida
From Aphelion to Perihelion; The show encompasses many styles of art from multiple eras of my life. I chose the title because of the polarities it represents for me. Aphelion, being the furthest point away from the sun, could be interpreted as work that was created during a period of darkness, stagnation, fear, withdrawal or agony. Perihelion, in opposition, may mean my art was inspired by ecstatic energy or warmth, growth, life and or awakening. Please don’t assume dark colors in the works are a result of Aphelion. On occasions, truth is accessed through darkness just as fear can be accessed by being close to pure light. Things are not always what they seem, which is why the earth is actually warmer during aphelion than perihelion.

My Art is alive, vibrant, breathing constantly flowing and evolving. My art and I grow together through experience, through mediums, through realms of the subconscious, intuition fantasy and dreams. My art helps me defy limitations set by words. Even though I am heavily influences by language it can only communicated so much because everyone is having their own experience with words and art based upon all of their social interactions. This is the reason that I can only create art for myself, without thinking about the audience’s interpretation. I must stay true to myself and not force work to come and if I am working in a particular style I do not feel the need to stay with that style just to gain a certain number of paintings. I would rather have meaningful quality work rather than quantity.
As I develop as a person my subject matter in my work differentiates. My art takes the form of painting, 2d and 3d animation, digital photography, drawing, graphic design, fashion, producing music beats, lyrics and poetry. Certain ideals translate better in a particular medium rather than others. I can’t say for sure how I pick which medium to work with. But even in the more straight forward mediums such as animation, I still wish to create metaphoric and poetic art in those mediums. Being who I am takes courage, I am visibly diverse. There are plenty of opportunities to get discriminated against and that could become detrimental to a persons positive mental growth. There are many human hardships and triumphs that are difficult to express with words. Art is a release and expression of the negative as well as positive energy in my life. Art is my healer. My art is a product of deeply carved crevices of my life's influences by tributaries of experiences. My art aspires to standout because my personal energy does. Whether it is joy or pain, love or abhorrence, the further I tap into personal emotions the more powerful the art. I am always hopeful that my art speaks to various walks of life in and beyond my community. I create art about my life because I feel it’s so important to share things that a lot of people experiences but not many have the courage to share. I hope it helps to liberate people’s minds and lift such guilt some have over their experiences. I also wish to help represent the underrepresented gender non conforming person in the media. I don’t make art to make money I make art to make history. It is a dream of mine to have my work known, shown, distributed and displayed around the world in established galleries and venues as well as my animation viewed at film festivals. I wish to combine all my artistic talents to create art for the love of expression and not for financial gain yet I do desire to provide a comfortable life for me and my family. Other endeavors include finding a style of animation that is unique to me and eventually opening an animation studio. The only way to keep up with the times is to continue to evolve and repeatedly learn modern technology to understand the platforms that art is being viewed on. I hope to always be an adaptable sponge with the ability to revolutionize my art through the changing of time. |
